Head Golf Professional Jim Bender is one of the most highly respected professionals in the PGA section

He has held many posts with the Met PGA, including president. He has also won numerous awards, in particular Met PGA Merchandiser of the Year – twice. Jim celebrated his 25th Anniversary as Ardsley's Head Golf Professional in 2007, testimony to the high regard members have for him. The Pro Shop features the newest model clubs and the latest in golf wear for men and women.

Jim and his staff of assistant golf professionals provide expert teaching experience along with the latest technology to measure swing mechanics. Known for mentoring numerous assistants, Jim's protégés now include head golf professionals at Whippoorwill, Metropolis, Wheatley Hills, Willow Ridge, Elmwood and North Shore country clubs.

In addition to private and group lessons, the golf staff conducts golf clinics for all age levels. The golf swings of some eight-year olds are the envy of many older members. The newly designed practice range includes greens and bunkers at various distances, as well as a separate short game range. With the professional staff and outstanding facilities at their disposal, there is no excuse for any member to shoot over par.

The golf program at Ardsley provides many opportunities to demonstrate golf prowess. Tournaments include Opening and Closing Day, Club Championship, President's and Governors' Cup, Two-Man and Four-Man Team, White House Cup, Ryder Cup, Tips, Interclub Matches, and the very popular Two-Day Invitational. Also extremely popular is the Men's Thursday Night League which runs throughout the season.

The Women's League take to the course on Wednesday mornings, with play featuring a variety of formats for both 18 and 9-hole players. Ardsley women also play in three golf associations – the WMGA, WIGL, and LIE.

Since Ardsley has so many members with young families, child care is available in the clubhouse for couples who want to participate in the very popular Mixed Twilights, which often attract over 100 players. More social than competitive ensures everyone has a great time.
